The earliest Irish members and supporters of Voice of the Faithful were people who registered on the main (USA) VOTF website in the months after the organisation was set up in 2002. One of these was Sean O'Conaill, who wrote an article on VOTF for the Irish Catholic monthly Reality in 2003. On a visit to Boston in early 2004, SOC was prevailed upon to take this early list of about forty people and to attempt to co-ordinate activities among them. Very aware of his own limitations as an organiser, he was still filling this role as acting Irish co-ordinator for VOTF until Easter 2010. Following two VOTF meetings in Dublin and Derry in early December 2005, our active membership had by March 2006 expanded to over eighty, mainly in these two centres. With the events of 2009 - principally the Ryan and Murphy reports - this number expanded to about 180 in 2010. About a quarter of these were located in the Dublin area. By then, the leadership of VOTFI had been devolved to a small membership support team. However, everywhere we go we find people 'on our wavelength' who only need to fill in a membership form. If you are one of these, then Voice of the Faithful is now ready to become present in your locality also. If you are wondering whether there are any VOTF members living close to you, why not either fill in the membership form (accessible via the 'JOIN' button on the top right of this page), or send us an e-mail via the 'Contact Us' page.
