Innocence Lost, A Life Gone A Mother laments her child
Proud parents watch him as he sleeps.
They look forward to his childhood years,
For this little one, they have no fears.
At twelve years old, he hides his despair
The hurt and rage he cannot share.
Who would believe him if he told,
Of the loyal, trusted family friend.
The man who gained the parents respect,
And trust of the old ageing dog.
The friend who sat the children on his knee,
The hidden evil, no one could see.
This loyal family friend,
The Paedophile.
Who, with premeditated cunning,
Sexually abused this innocent young child.
On the outside the boy lives on,
Inside his spirit has gone.
He buries his feelings deep, deep down.
Now thirteen years on, he relives it all,
He finds he wasn’t alone.
In court beside him, stand seven young men,
All pointing at the same family friend.
Is there justice for the victims,
Whose lives are gone forever.
The Paedophile has gone to jail,
In just seven years, he will be free again.
